Blondes and Bouquetts

My signature skirt! I have made many, many, skirts like this, but this particular one is my favorite. Especially together with this redesigned silk top, which originally was a neglisje.

The skirt is made of a curtain fabric, which gives it the nice and ''fluffy'' shape. I love it that it is super slim in the waist and wider at the bottom.

It reminds me of summer and sun!

A wonderfull gift

My mother was out traveling in Belgium, and when she returned she brought with her two wonderful little knitted collars. They are so beautiful!

Two weeks ago I bought a simple blue dress at a sale, and decided to ''dress it up'' by sewing on one of the collars. I makes the dress look a little ''schoolgirl/nun'', but never mind… I like it! So you see, you don't always have to do it from scratch. Personally I often think redesigning is just as fun as sewing everything yourself. With just 10 minutes work my dress was transformed!

The other one however… I can't decide what to make with it!  I was considering making a jacket, but also a shirt. Or maybe a dress? And also a sweater! I just can't decide…  Its so precious!

Still waiting?

Finally I repaired the camera!!.. which was apparently only out of battery?

So now maybe I can show you some of my new creations soon, which now have grown in number! Im soon finished with two christmas dresses and the purple knitted sweater is only a sleeve short..

After moving away I'm starting to miss all my fabrics.. There are so many things I wish I had bough along! I feel amputated..

So still waiting? I know I am... I cant wait to get this blog really going!

Minni Mouse for Halloween?

Since my camera is still out of order.. I'll take you yet again into my archives!

This ''Minni Mouse'' dress, I made from an old pillowcase, some scraps of a polkadot fabric and an old zipper from a coverall. I think it might have been as much as five years since I made it... My general style has changed quite a bit since then, but still, I think this dress is super cute! And the best thing about it is that its all redesign.

It is the zipper in the back that is used to open and close the dress, since the zipper in front is just a decoration. Of course (!) you can also unzip it, but you'll only see the lining... So, nothing interesting there! Unless your into red silk...

This dress could either function as a Halloween costume as Minni Mouse, or simply as a summer dress!  You decide... I've used it as both! Its even been a part of a old catwalk I had in my home town, where my model wore big red minni mouse shoes. It was great!

The red ribbon at the bottom is actually hand sewn... I think back at the time when I did that! Oh, the good old time before I understood the many amazing opportunities the sewing machine gives you, besides sewing in a straight line.

Hang out, I hope I can show you some of my new projects soon! And quess what, theres more on the go! Hope you had a wonderful Halloween tonight!

Classy pink

Its time for another trip into the archives! and this time I want to show you a black and pink dress I made myself for a party some time ago.. I was very unsure what to wear for this party, because I didn't have anything that was classy enough. So, therefore, I made this one!

Its simply just a slim-fit dress made out of cotton with wide and folded straps over the shoulder. It's really quite easy! The trick is just to get the flower-pattern right on the sewing lines!

A trip into the archives: Provence

While being home on vacation I photographed some of my old projects and designs, so that I can show you, one garment at the time, what I've been doing for the last couple of years.

I'll start off with a blue and off-white dress I've made from a combination of old and new fabrics.

The beautiful blue fabric, which is typical Provence, was new when I found in my mothers collection of fabrics, while the white fabric is a scrap from my grandmothers attic.

To make smoother and more rounder edges on the upper blue fabric, it is simply sewn on top of the white. The white top is therefore actually just a simple ''box'' pattern, but the blue fabric creates a visual effect of a heart.

The dress is tight in the waist, while the top is a little ''bubbly'', so that it looks looser. That, in a combination with the heart-shape, makes your waist look slimmer and your boobs look bigger. hehe

Pressing Purple

Why, hey! Yet another project? Shouldn't you finish all the other projects first?

No! I just couldn't wait to begin with this new knitted sweater I'm going to make. I'm using two threads, one furry and brighter purple, and one darker and smoother purple. That way the sweater is going to both be warmer AND more furry! How great!

I'm using 130 loops and knitting needles size 5.

A little cheerful ''something''

I have so many ideas in ''work-in progress'', but still.. here is another project on the go!

I started knitting this very colorful ''something'' yesterday, in a random pattern and color combination. I'm using 150 loops, and quite thin cotton yarn. I'm not sure what it's going to become, but I'm sure I'll figure it out when I'm done. At least something very cheerful!

''Bun top''

I was looking trough my big book of handicrafts, and I found an amazing new knitting pattern I hadn't seen before, ''the bun''. A just had to try it, and started knitting something that could either become a skirt or a top. Honestly, I just wanted to make some buns, and didn't really care if I made something usable or not. Still, it turned out quite alright really. And me and my friends had a good laugh while I made it, as we named it ''a pig brah'' because of the color.

It wasn't really hard once I understood how to knit the ''buns''. I just kept on knitting in a circle of approximately 120 loops with size four/five sticks, and once I reached the length I wanted, I just made some thin straps.
I think I might even use this one!
